Ryan Thomas Gosling was born on the 12th of November, 1980, in Ontario. He got an idea of being an actor as he had a lot of psychological and health problems and was severely teased at school. His sister encouraged him to become a performer, giving him an opportunity to sing on weddings with her. He claims that acting was a new way to obtain emotional independence and freedom. When he was in his early teens, he quit his schooling to concentrate on his acting career. His acting started in 1993 when he was enrolled into a youth project.
